The varying trends in music are attributed to the different artists that come up in every decade and the top albums they produce. In the early days of music, mechanical instruments were the source of the sound and then with the evolution in technology, the instruments and the sound equipment have completely changed giving rise to various forms of music.
How Music evolved over the years?
In the olden days, music was part of the culture of every country and each had their own type of instruments and made music with them. As music soothes the soul of a person, kings and queens used to enjoy by letting famous musicians from around the country play in their midst. Later with the development of electricity, musical instruments also saw development. Electromechanical instruments came into being and new forms of music like rock and pop. After a decade, the musical instruments had become completely electronic and the development in sound technology like the synthesizers had made artists to adopt new sub-genres in rock and pop music. This led to an increase in number of artists who specialize in western art music throughout the world. After the development of digital audio, the creation of sounds and their manipulation electronically became very easy. As a result, more genres in electronic music came into being and the use of synthesizers became very common. After further advancements were seen electronically, in the late 80s a new form of music EDM or electronic dance music which was made using only electronic instruments became very popular and further added a lot of types of electronic music. It then became a very trendy form of music that is still used in bars, parties and other get-togethers. Later as music and sound technology got a lot of upgrades due to the use of computers, music production and manipulation became even easier giving rise to forms or music like dubstep. As the traditional instrument sounds and music are achievable using computers, older forms of music are gaining popularity again.
