The preoccupation of the people who were living those times
was to make new colonial and territory to come under them and they do so by
making spy journeys into those places by the help of maps and compasses. Apart
from the spy journeys, many of these kingdoms wage war against other kingdoms
and territories. This is done in order to increase their span of control over
those territories and when kings declare war as such, they begin to pull out
all of their weapons of war that has been stockpiled for a long time. It is
interest you that all of these weapons are far from the sophisticated machinery
that is used today. A tomahawk ax gives a clear resemblance of some old
weapon.
Moreover, the kingdom or territory that goes to war with
others must make sure that they outnumber their enemies in terms of warriors
and not just warriors but trained warriors. Apart from that, the kind of
weapons to be used must be ones that the warriors are familiar with in order to
avoid misuse of the weapons and as such gives the enemy an upper hand. The
various weapons that are used include swords of different types, shapes, and
sizes, matchet of various sizes, spears that are long, bow and arrows for those
who are skilled in that. The best type of bow to be used in the era are the
recurve bow. Other weapons include daggers and axes of which tomahawk is
a vivid example that featured sharpness and sleekness.
In the times of war, one of the things that must be taken
care of are the materials that can shield the warriors from the counterattack
of the enemy. The fact remains that the winning side is the side with the
highest number of warrior after a period of time. Whenever a side realize that
most of its warriors are dead, then there is always a call to retreat or to
accept defeat. Therefore, the warriors must be trained to strive for survival
at the war front while trying to annihilate the other party, which is the enemy
camp. The survival of the warriors is crucial to the winning of the war.
