For mothers-to-be, pregnancy (embarazo) is an incredible journey.
You are supposed to follow a healthy lifestyle when you are pregnant. A normal
pregnancy is also referred to as intrauterine pregnancy. An ultrasound the test
is carried out to confirm normal pregnancy and help in determining how far the
pregnancy has progressed.
Pregnancy (embarazo) is divided into three
trimesters. The first is from conception to twelve weeks, second from thirteen
to twenty-eight weeks and the third from twenty-nine until childbirth
(parto). Throughout this phase, a woman’s body undergoes many changes. You
will experience a shift in the production and balances of hormones. During your
pregnant phase more estrogen is produced than your entire non-pregnant life.
Also, your heart will work 30 to 50 percent harder during your second
trimester. The reason is to provide more blood to the fetus. The internal
organs in your body may shift to accommodate the ever-increasing uterus as it
starts occupying more space with your body cavity.
Eventually during childbirth (parto) if it is vaginal birth, your
cervix enlarges. The fetus changes position with head towards the birth canal.
With the contractions and relaxations of the uterine muscles, the baby is
pushed towards the canal and out. However, concerning C-section, an incision is
made on the abdomen of the mother and the baby is lifted out of the body. In
both modes of childbirth, the placenta is removed, and the umbilical cord is
cut from the mother.
