Advantages of hyperbaric therapy explained

The common treatment for increasing the level of oxygen is known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy or simply hbot. Meaning of hyper is increased and the meaning of baric refers to the measuring tool for pressure. These are the recurrent therapies carried out in special atmosphere, which contains only 100 % pure oxygen. The pressure exerted by the atmosphere on earth is calculated as 15 pounds per square inch. Only 20 % of the air in the atmosphere is oxygen. We inhale oxygen along with other gases present in the atmosphere. In hyperbaric therapy the pressure exerted by oxygen is doubled and the air of the atmosphere in this case will be containing only pure oxygen.

The increased level of oxygen and the increased pressure help the oxygen to get dissolved in the blood easier. Under these circumstances the cells, tissues and plasma receives pure oxygen 10 times more than that of the normal conditions. This helps to solve many issues. Some such issues are discussed below.

Even if there is some blockage in the arteries this helps increased flow of oxygen in the arteries.
Growth of capillaries is stimulated where there is less circulation, consequently the blood flow in that area is increased. Arterial dilation helps the compromised organs to receive better oxygen supply.
Production of sod (superoxide dismutase) is maximized resulting in the generation of free radicals and antibodies.

Healthier immunity is shown as a result of enhanced mobility of the cells.
The increased atmospheric pressure was a very intriguing and a matter of surprise for thousands of years. Though this treatment was already available in the medical field, recently it has acquired very good momentum as a treatment option for cognitive diseases. Chronic degenerative diseases like cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, autism, brain injury etc. were found to have good healing effect on using hyperbaric therapy.
