Benny
Cenac of Cenac marine service is a big name in the
marine industry mainly indulged in main ironworks and towing business. These
marines are used for transportation purposes like transportation of
petrochemicals, refined products, and crude oil. The Cenac marine service was
formerly known as Cenac towing and the three newly developed
vessels would be used by Kirby corporation for the above-mentioned purposes.

Kirby
corporation acquired ships and barges of Cenac marine service for $244 million
which has the capacity of almost 1.9million bbls. It acquired 34 inland barges
and 3200-hp tugs. The partnership between both companies has emerged as a good
decision and expected to show massive growth shortly.
Towing
industry
On
the growth of the towing industry and the partnership with Kirby, Arlen Benny Cenacjr. gave his statement
that to grow and evolve the business we need to take such heavy decisions and
he also mentioned that jack Cenac would be proud of him. The establishment of
this partnership would bring new leadership in the business which is the need
of the hour and Cenac marine service would focus on the mainstream work of
making new and renovated ships, updated main ironworks shipyards and would work
on its operational excellence. Benny Cenac Towing has a reputation in the
area, maintaining which would be a challenge for the Kirby Corporation. The
three acquired boats namely Sandra, Leigh and Ivey have an identical built and
measures 88 feet in length, 35-foot beam, and 9-foot draft.
