Council tax arrears can lead to many problems for you

Most people walk into council tax debt issues without knowing. Council tax arrears are not a good thing. Whenever you miss out on council tax payments or decide not to pay, you are sent reminders from the local council. When they send this reminder, they give you 7 good days to have the arrears paid off. If it happens you aren’t able to make payment before the 7 days is up, you are sent a final notice. This final notice that is sent is what demands you to make payment for your arrears for the whole year. When you miss payment of the final notice, they then decide to have legal action taken against you.
This is done to get all taxes you owe them. Remember, you do not want things to get worse or to that level. When it happens that you aren’t able to make payment, as it should be, you can decide to find a way to write off council tax debt. Deciding to have your council debts written off is not a bad thing. It is actually the best way for you to be free from all issues that come with these debts. Council tax payments are mostly apportioned over 12 months or 10 months period. This is done to ensure it is highly convenient for you to pay.
