Repairing a JBL A610 speakerphone

All hi-fi speakers aged 15 or 20 years, regardless of their brand, face the same problem. The sound gradually degrades over the years, noise noises appear, the bass lose their vigor. In 95% of cases these defects come from the wear of the loudspeaker membrane. This wear is normal, due to the age of the speakers.
The Manager is the rim of the membrane that tears and leaves in pieces. But the rim of the membrane, called suspension, is the only piece that wears in a loudspeaker.
Indeed there are no friction parts. When the suspension is changed, the speaker is like new. It has an additional life expectancy of 15 to 20 years.
Our workshop repairs high quality speakers and speakers with original parts when available:
JBL, Cabasse, focal, infinity, acoustic research, Wharfedale, JM lab, Elipson, triangle, jamo, SIARE, Audax, 3A, B&O, Athom, Supravox, Dynaudio, Kef, Tannoy, Cerwin Vega, Bose, seas, Memorex, scan speak, Vifa, pioneer, SONY, eminence, etc...

Your speakerphone is down, but what's the breakdown?
In 90% of cases the problem comes from the membrane that lost its suspension. In 10% of the cases the coil is damaged.
To find out, disassemble the loudspeaker and lay it flat. Gently press the center of the membrane.
If the membrane sinks and returns in place without friction, the loudspeaker is good for a change of membrane suspension.
If the membrane does not sink, or if it is sinking, it is the coil that is damaged.
In this case the loudspeaker needs a reckoning.
The loudspeaker may appear to rub if the thrust is not applied exactly from top to bottom.
There is a set of only a few tenths of a millimeter in the air gap.
